Typically the best time to purchase is during the fall and spring markets because those are the longest you usually have more to pick from because properties come on the market at that time. The flip side of it is, is that you’re looking during prime season and you’ll have more competition.

But there’s a lot of other factors that might affect your decision and we’re going to talk about a few of them and also how the timing works with each of those.

One of those reasons that may affect your decision is your lease expiring because of it is then we would probably be looking four months prior to when you want to close. I mean why rent if you could be building up equity.

What better reason to make a new home purchase in NYC than getting a new job here so depending on when you’ll actually move hopefully we’ll have some time to start that search 3-4 months ahead of time, if not come here to let us put you in a rental and give you a bit more of a relaxed timeline to make that big decision.

Are you looking for an office space, upsizing or downsizing, I mean these are things that would not be in such a rush to be looking for so we would have more time to go and look on the market

So buying in NYC market is always a good decision but there are certain things that are going to fast forward that timeline like a lease expiring or you’re moving to NY or your upsizing or downsizing.
